How AIESEC will work to send you abroad?
1) Apply at http://aieseconline.net/
Set up an account there: fill in all the required info, upload a resume or CV, etc. It’s a fair amount of information, but this is the bookkeeping website for everyone who moves through the exchange process and tells us about you before your interview.
- Interview
This is where you show to us that you’re ready to go out in the world and represent AIESEC.
2) aieseconline.net Acceptance
If we decide you’re ready, we’ll accept your application at aieseconline.net and you will officially be an Exchange Participant (EP).
- $75 Application fee
From your aieseconline.net account you will be charged a $75 fee. This fee grants you access to the AIESEC traineeship (TN) database. Once the fee is paid, aieseconline.net drops your credit card info for your own security.
- EP(Exchange Participant) Manager
At this point an EP Manager will be assigned to you; this is an Outgoing Exchange team member who will work closely with you for the rest of the process. Your EP Manager will create an account for you at http://myaiesec.net/, where the traineeship database is housed.
- TN (Traineeship) Search
By now you probably have a pretty good idea of what you’re looking for, from the type of internship to the country in which you want to work. Your EP Manager will help you navigate the database to speed up your search.
3) Write First Letter
First Letter, Cover Letter, Motivation Letter; this is where we impress the company you’re applying to with your talents and skills.
- EP Manager emails TN Manager
Your EP manager will now send your First Letter with your CV attached to the TN Manager who raised that traineeship.
If you are selected, the TN manager will respond and ask if you have any questions about the traineeship, as well as request an Acceptance Note from you; if this is in fact the one you want, we send a note saying you are ready to accept this traineeship.

4) Interview with company
The next step is to interview with the company who is considering your application. Generally this is done over the phone, although occasionally we use Skype.
- Myaiesec.net status change
If the company decides to hire you, the TN Manager will send you an Acceptance Note of his own. He or she will also change your EP status on myaiesec.net to “On Hold” and the TN status to “Matched.”
- TN Fee payment
Once you’ve been approved by the company you can pay the TN fee relevant to your type of traineeship. Management and technical traineeship candidates pay $675 and Education and development traineeship candidates pay $425.
- Request Visa Invitation Letter
Now
that you have been hired, you are put in direct contact with the company. The
first order of business is to request a visa invitation letter. Depending on
the country this may take some time to process, so the quicker you begin sooner
you’ll have your visa.
5) Schedule arrival
Now
we work with the host Local Committee (LC) to figure out, when you should
arrive, how best to do housing, transportation, and many other logistical
details – we are here to support you and make the transition as smooth as
possible.
- Purchase Plane Tickets and Insurance
Once
the details have been determined, purchase plane tickets and health and/or
traveler’s insurance.
- Attend Cultural Preparation Seminar
We will put on a
cultural prep seminar to get you ready and excited for life in that country.
